DiBara team deserves a 5-star plus plus for the work that they wall that they repaired for us. I have worked with various contractors over the past 30 years, but this is the first time that the process was smooth, on budget, on time and the outcome exceeded my expectations. Our wall was damaged via a car accident driven by our neighbor (please see before and after pictures attached). Early in the process, Renee was quick to provide a high level quote via a zoom call. Then Edgar came to my house to observe the damage and provided a detailed quote. There was a cap on how much the insurance company was paying so Edgar worked with his team to give us additional discounts in order to reduce the amount of money our neighbor would have to pay out of pockets. Their prices were lower than two other companies so the $97 inspection fee was credited. The construction team included Chayan, Francisco, Leo, Gabrino, Joe , Fernando and Juan, and they all were professional, meticulous, courteous and operated safety. Francisco, Edgar and Chayan accommodated the higher quality bricks that we chose without nickel and dime us and our neighbor. The team communicated progress well and cleaned up the area at the end of each day. I feel this company is ethical, provides superior work and services to its customers at lower prices. I definitely will use DiBara Masonry again and will be referring this company to others. Thank you DiBara team!!Posted on Google![]()

I called DiBara Masonry after a vehicle had struck my wall, severely damaging it. They came out, gave me a very detailed proposal for my insurance and took care of the repair in a clean and timely manner. They were able to match the existing stucco perfectly. When I found a few issues with the paint after the job was completed, the DiBara crew stood by their work and came back out to correct the problem. This is my second time using these professionals and I will continue to use them for any further projects on my home.Posted on Google![]()

We loved working with DiBara on our project. Work was delivered on-time with courtesy and professionalism. We installed steps in our front yard. It was not a small job (for us), being on a hill, and, in addition to the masonry, included installing custom railing and adding low voltage lighting. Communication with our project rep, Chayan, was smooth and timely. He coordinated subs (Roberto the electrician was also awesome) and kept us informed. Our on-site project manager, Carlos, and his team were great. We worked cooperatively on the design, and Carlos came up with a better result than we could have imagined, and consistently kept in mind the goal of the project (give my elderly dad a way to get from the street to the house safely) We added to the scope of work mid-way through, and DiBara handled it all with professionalism. We recommend them wholeheartedly.Posted on Google![]()

I needed to repair a crack in my driveway block wall as well as lay down some concrete in my driveway. My experience with DiBara Masonry was excellent from the initial call, to the in home estimate, as well as signing the contract thru the online portal (which also accepts payments). Fredy, Jessie, Darwin, Francisco, Miriam and the rest of the team were all on-time everyday, professional, experienced, and very skilled. The team has pride in the quality of their work— that resonated with me to the extent that I doubled the scope of the Project (demolished an old stucco wood based wall and replaced it with a 7 foot block wall). DiBara sent more manpower when it was needed, and the team cleaned up so well after alot of demolition debris. Even after my final invoice payment — I needed them to repair a small leak in a water line that needed to be moved. Fredy accommodated this request without any hesitation. I HIGHLY recommend DiBara masonry for any services that they provide. Over the past 20 years, I’ve dealt with at least 10-15 contractors for various projects, and DiBara Masonry is at the top of the list of Contractors with whom I’m most satisfied. Thank you Dibara! Quick update January 2026: I used Dibara once more to repair alot of stucco and weatherproof damage on my detached garage, as well as laid new concrete and tiles that nearly matched my 20 year old courtyard tiles— they were prompt, professional, and patient as they searched for several weeks to find tiles that matched my old ones. I would gladly use their services again for any project, in their words, “we can build anything outside of your house”. Thanks again Dibara!Posted on Google![]()

DiBara masonry responded quickly to a wall that had been accidently damaged by a neighbor. They were able to identify a cost-effective solution that fit well within our budgets, sent people out immediately even though the weather wasn't the greatest, and completed the work, with it looking like it was never damaged in the first place. Thank you, would definitely recommend!Posted on Google![]()

Dibara Masonry did a great job replacing a retaining wall that had fallen over. The whole process was seamless and easy. I will not hesitate to use them again. They gave me a couple options to repair it and explained everything thoroughly. I am confident that this retaining wall is not going anywhere.Posted on Google![]()

We had this group do a complicated backyard design with concrete, pebbles and soil on three levels of our yard. We changed our minds about what we wanted several times. The DiBara team was very responsive and performed excellently. Their prices were reasonable given all the work that they did. We recommend them as excellent for landscaping.Posted on Yelp![]()

I recently had DiBara's team do a widening of my driveway with brickwork requiring a lot of intensive cutting and careful work. Though the job took an extra day than originally planned, it came out very well and I would definitely recommend them. The team leaders are responsive and very accommodating as well.Posted on Yelp![]()

DiBara did a great job fixing a retaining wall and stairs in our back yard. The site visit was easy to schedule, their price was better than competitors, and the repairs and resurfacing have really improved the look of our back yard. I would use them again for concrete projects.Posted on Yelp![]()

Richard M DiBara Masonry provided the most reasonable solution to our problem of loose and bowing brickwork over industrial warehouse rollup doors. They were also the least expensive of the three companies who gave me an estimate. Quick response, good communication, excellent work and cleanup. Will certainly use them again if needed.Posted on Yelp![]()

DiBara Masonry repaired my brick and wood fence that was badly damaged when a car slammed into it. Matt came out and assessed the damage and sent crews to rebuild the entire section. The brick work was outstanding and the crews were professional and knowledgeable. The job involved not only rebuilding the brick wall but replacing a cracked cement retaining wall and the wood planks. They did an amazing job and it actually looks better than before. I highly recommend this company!Posted on Yelp![]()

Dibara Masonry was fantastic to work with. Matt came by and did a comprehensive assessment of the work to be done, then a detailed plan of how he and his team would accomplish it. The crew was extremely polite, prompt and professional, completing the job in the exact amount of time initially predicted. Overall it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend Dibara Masonry.Posted on Yelp![]()

The excellent team at DiBara were absolutely phenomenal. They not only successfully performed a complex renovation, but also expertly navigated a challenging regulatory environment including permits, inspections and always came up with timely and effective solutions. I can't thank the whole DiBara team enough for their hard work, care and dedication to our project. Matt, Edgar, Carlos, Erica and the whole team - are all real professionals and more importantly caring and kind people. The demolition, masonry and finishing work was all done extremely well, communication was top notch and pricing was fair and transparent. Highly recommended!Posted on Yelp![]()

Best contractor that I have worked with in a long time. Matt came down and gave us sound advice on our somewhat tricky project and then the crew came and executed meticulously and expertly. I liked working with each and every member of the team. They got it done in the desired timeframe avoiding all possible complications. Totally happy with the work. Way to go DiBara Masonry! Five stars.Posted on Yelp![]()

Tell us about your boundary wall project, we’ll provide a detailed quote at no cost or obligation.
We’ll request the basic project details and deliver a preliminary estimate, giving you an immediate idea of the scope and cost.
We confirm the exact property line, applicable height limits for your zone, and any shared-wall or easement considerations.
Within 72 hours we deliver a scope and, where required, prepare the structural details LADBS needs for permit approval.
Once the contract is signed, production will soon get in touch to confirm the project’s start date and discuss any other scheduling requirements.
Our crews build the wall to the approved plan, coordinating access and drainage with the adjoining property where the wall is shared.
We make it simple to start. Schedule a quick virtual consultation with our team, and you’ll receive a personalized estimate tailored to your property, completely free of charge.
With more than 4,300 structural projects completed across Southern California, our crews build masonry boundary walls, privacy walls, and shared property-line walls for homeowners and small developers across Los Angeles, operating under active California State License CSLB #1002003.
We coordinate surveys, height-limit compliance, and, where needed, shared-wall agreements with neighboring property owners before laying the first block, so the finished wall does not become a future dispute or code violation. Get in touch with us today to schedule a free estimate for your boundary wall project.
A property line wall over the standard height limit, built on a slope, or shared between two lots involves zoning setbacks, drainage easements, and sometimes a licensed surveyor, not just a fence installer. DiBara Masonry, operating under CSLB License #1002003 (C-29 Masonry classification) along with approximately 5 additional trade licenses, handles the structural and permit side that a typical fence company cannot.
Every boundary wall project is reviewed by a fourth-generation mason for height-limit compliance and drainage impact on both properties, reducing the chance of a neighbor dispute or a stop-work order after construction begins. You can verify our license status, classification, and bond at any time on the Contractors State License Board website.
Residential fences and walls in Los Angeles are generally limited to 6 feet in rear and side yards and lower in front yards, though the exact figure varies by zone and lot. The governing rules sit in the Los Angeles Municipal Code zoning provisions, and engineered walls can sometimes exceed the standard limit with an approved LADBS plan check.
Walls under 6 feet in most residential zones typically do not require an LADBS permit unless they retain soil or sit on a slope. Taller walls, walls in hillside zones, and walls that also function as retaining structures generally do, and our LADBS permit team prepares the structural details and handles the submittal when one is needed.

Every lot and neighbor situation is different, so we scope each boundary wall around the survey, the zoning limits, and how the wall will be finished on both sides. Our boundary wall services include:
For decorative block, smooth stucco, or stone-veneer finishes, see our architectural masonry options, and our block wall construction page covers reinforced CMU wall details.
A boundary wall marks and screens a property line, and its design is driven by zoning, height limits, and neighbor agreements rather than soil engineering. If your wall also holds back soil on a slope, see our Retaining Wall services in Los Angeles, since a wall that retains earth is designed, permitted, and inspected as a structural retaining system.
Some projects are both: a stepped wall on a sloped lot line can retain soil at its base and act as a privacy wall above it. In those cases we design the lower retaining portion to engineering standards and the upper screen portion to the zoning limits, and our guide to retaining walls on the property line explains how responsibility is typically split between neighbors.
A solid wall built across a natural drainage path can redirect water onto a neighbor’s property, which can create liability. We assess drainage patterns during the survey phase and include weep holes or drainage channels in the design where needed, following the same site-drainage approach detailed on our drainage and sitework page.
For shared walls, we recommend documenting a maintenance agreement at the time of construction so both owners know who handles repairs later. Four generations of family-owned masonry experience and 4,350+ completed projects across Los Angeles stand behind every wall we build.

Residential fences and walls are generally limited to 6 feet in rear and side yards and lower in front yards, though this varies by zone and can be higher with an approved plan check for engineered walls. We confirm the exact limit for your property before designing the wall.
For a wall built exactly on the line and shared by both properties, yes, a shared-wall or party-wall agreement is standard practice. If the wall sits entirely on your side of the line, you generally don’t need permission, but written notice avoids future disputes.
Absent a different written agreement, both property owners typically share responsibility for maintaining a wall built directly on the line. We recommend documenting a maintenance agreement at the time of construction to avoid ambiguity later.
Yes. A solid wall built across a natural drainage path can redirect water onto a neighbor’s property, which can create liability. We assess drainage patterns during the survey phase and can include weep holes or drainage channels in the design where needed.
Walls under 6 feet in most residential zones typically do not require an LADBS permit unless they retain soil or sit on a slope, but taller walls, walls in hillside zones, or walls that also function as retaining structures generally do.
Often yes, especially if the footing is intact and the lean is from age rather than an active drainage or soil problem. We evaluate the footing and lean angle before recommending a repair versus a full rebuild.
If the property line isn’t clearly established by recorded survey markers, yes. A licensed land surveyor confirms the line so the wall isn’t built on the neighbor’s land, one of the most common sources of boundary disputes. We coordinate the survey as part of our first project step.
Reinforced concrete block (CMU) is the most common choice because it is durable, fire-resistant, and accepts stucco, stone veneer, or decorative block finishes. Brick and split-face block are also options when the wall needs to match the home. We recommend a material based on height, exposure, and the finish you want on each side.
A boundary wall marks or screens a property line and is governed mainly by zoning and height limits. A retaining wall holds back soil and is designed as an engineered structure. If your wall does both, the retaining portion follows the engineering and permit rules covered on our retaining walls in Los Angeles page.
Build time depends on the wall’s length, height, and finish. The survey, any neighbor agreement, and permit review often take longer than construction itself, so we include a project-specific timeline in the proposal we send within 72 hours of the site visit.
Sometimes. An extension depends on whether the existing footing and reinforcement can carry the extra height and whether the new total stays within the limit for your zone. We check the footing and rebar before quoting an extension, and recommend a rebuild when the original wall cannot safely support it.
